Eleventh Week


Last week, James came on Monday and did a presentation about the educational system in USA. We finished section 2D, "the story behind the photo", the pronunciation exercise on page 26 and we started watching the second episode of Mark and Allie. Besides, we had 2 tests: listening comprehension test and a grammar test.
Next Wednesday, we will:
- do another test,
- finish watching the episode
- do a lot of oral practice
- do some grammar exercises

Homework:

1. Exercise 2 GRAMMAR, page 22, and Grammar Bank 2D, page 129 (only 2ºB CAL)
2. "What do you remember" section (pages 26&27). See the key

Tenth Week

This week we learnt the use of the prepositions ON, IN and AT. We focused on the sound shwa, /w/ and /h/. We read the text on page 21, did the exercises and listened to the song "Imagine". On Wednesday, I explained the structure of questions with and without auxiliary (pages 20 & 128) and some of you did brilliant presentations about your photos.

Homework for November 30th:

- Write a composition about your favourite photo. Something similar to the text on page 25. Be brief and just answer the questions on exercise a. You can either send it by email or hand it in.

Ninth Week

We revised the pronunciation of final -ed in regular verbs, finished section 2A and started 2B (text on page 18 and listening comprehension on page 19). We learnt the use of past continuous and its difference with respect to past simple. Some of you did very interesting presentations about your last holidays. Last Wednesday, I showed you some photos when I was a child.

Homework for Monday 23rd Nov.

1. Grammar exercises on page 128, section 2B.
2. Read text on page 21 and do exercises A and B about the text.
3. Some of you will do a brief presentation about three old photos.

Eighth Week

On Monday, we started Unit 2 about the past. We read the article on page 16 and paid special attention to the pronunciation of final -ed (regular verbs). Later, I did a brief presentation with photos about my last trip to Berlin (see questions on page 17, exercise 6 SPEAKING)
On Wednesday, we went to the cinema to see Bunny and the Bull and La escuela expandida. We had a great evening!! :-)

Homework:
Next Monday, some of you will do some presentations showing photos about your last trip.
2ºA: Lola, Antonio (and any other)
2ºB: Mariló, Pablo, Lola, Mª Ángeles, Antonio, Juanma, Lidia and Pedro.

We will revise final -ed pronunciation (do this exercise), do listening comprehension exercise on page 17 and start section 2B.
And James is coming on Monday to talk about Thanksgiving Celebration in USA!!

Seventh Week

On Wednesday 4th November, we finished Unit 1 (end of section 1D, video about Mark and Allie, writing section p.13 and Revise and Check pp. 14 & 15)

Sixth Week

Last week (26th-30th Oct.) we did the presentations about our favourite paintings and finished section 1C. On Wednesday, we had two guests: Michael did a PowerPoint presentation about himself and Marisa talked about her school in Sheffield. It was very interesting, wasn't it?

Homework:

1. We will finish section 1D next Wednesday.
2. Do grammar exercise on page 127 (2ºB CAL)
3. Correct the ten mistakes on page 13 (exercise a)

Fifth Week

On 21st October, we started section 1C (pages 8 & 9). We revised the parts of the body focusing on their pronunciation (very important!!) and we did the exercises concerning Toulouse- Lautrec´s painting At the Moulin Rouge (speaking and listening exercises).





On Monday (26th Oct), you are going to talk about your favourite picture (be ready for a brief presentation in front of the class!!) and we´ll start section 1D.

Fourth week


Last Wednesday, we finished section 1B. These are the solutions for the READING exercises on page 6:
